The Lakȟólʼiye apps are intended to help people learn the Lakota language. It's a vocabulary builder program and definitely a work in progress. Its goal is to help reserve the Lakota language.
One way to help preserve a language is to make learning it easier. The Lakȟólʼiye apps are designed to make learning a more personal experience. When used in conjunction with other resources, the Lakȟólʼiye apps allow learners to compile words from subjects of their own interest, store their own audio samples, and practice the lessons at their own pace.
The Lakȟólʼiye apps require Claris FileMaker to run. FileMaker Go is a free application that runs on iOS devices such as iPhones and iPads. FileMaker Pro is a paid app that runs on MacOS and Windows. Sorry, no Android option is available at this time. More information on Claris FileMaker is available below.
